25th Annual Hook, Line and Sinker Contest
Hone your skills in hooking an editor or agent by entering our Hook, Line & Sinker Contest. Three Hudson Valley RWA members, at least one published, will critique the first three pages of your manuscript. The five entries with the highest scores will be ranked by Harlequin editor BRENDA CHIN.

25th ANNUAL HOOK, LINE, & SINKER CONTEST SCORE SHEET
General Rules
- Entry fee: $10.00
- Include a cover page with your name, address, phone number, e-mail and title/genre of your novel.
- Entries must be mailed to coordinator by regular mail or emailed to the contest coordinator no later than midnight November 1, 2010. ENTRIES REQUIRING A SIGNATURE TO CONFIRM DELIVERY WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
- Send entries to contest coordinator: Gina Rosavin, 397 Ridgewood Blvd. North, Washington Twp., NJ 07676 or email your electronic submission to: HVRWAContest@gmail.com
- For the purposes of this contest, the author’s name should not appear on the manuscript.
- Winners will be announced in January of each year.
For Email Entries:
- For electronic copies, fill out the disclaimer and paste it into the body of your email. Then attach your entry and cover page to the email. Email to: HVRWAContest@gmail.com.
- Please include the PAYPAL confirmation on the form.
- Entries should be sent in RTF format.
For Hard-Copy Entries
- For mailed in entries, please enclose four copies of the first three pages of your unpublished, book length novel, double spaced with one inch margins and professionally presented.
- Please indicate your method of payment and the corresponding transaction/check number.
- Include one signed disclaimer. Entries without a signature will not be accepted.
- Enclose a 9 x 12 SASE with sufficient postage for return of your critiqued pages. NO metered mail on SASE please!
- Include a check or money order for $10.00 drawn from a U.S. bank in U.S. funds, American Express Travelers check in U.S. dollars made payable to Hudson Valley RWA or use Paypal. PLEASE NOTE: Foreign checks, postal orders or bank checks from foreign banks will not be accepted and the entry disqualified.
