HVRWA    

Hudson Valley RWA began in 1984 with a small group of dedicated writers meeting in a local library. In 1986  two of our founders, Jane Toombs and Ruby Frankel, decided it was time to incorporate and the official chapter was born.

To earn money for such things as the newsletter and chapter insurance, we began the Hook Line and Sinker contest.  Entrants submit three pages and are critiqued by three chapter members.  The final round is judged by a respected editor. A number of the entrants have gone on to become published authors.

We are a diverse group of writers, both published and unpublished, who strive for excellence in our pursuits.  Among our members are Rita winners or finalists, Golden Heart finalists, EPPIE winners and a New York Times best-seller author.
